Excellence

Hello World,

Firstly, huge apologies for not blogging for so very, very long. . .I began to feel guilty about this and them remembered that is not the point of blogging at all. However, I do feel my absence has shown me something. . .I have been planning to blog on the subject of 'Excellence' for a long time but have never got round to blogging during my working hours (ie lunch break - ideal time to post) as I have been so busy. . .

I am convinced that as followers of Jesus we are to honour Him in our work and follow His example - think about it, would you find Jesus wasting hours on Facebook, cutting corners when replying to clients and deleting emails without paying them full attention? I think not, so the point of this gap to me has been - strive for excellence.

This reminds me of a verse I just love in Colossians, Chapter 3 verse 23-4: 'whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ'.

Let's be those who set examples in the work-place - and point to Jesus in every task we put our hand to.

Hello!

I thought it was about time I started writing a blog. . .Facebook is boring these days and a blog is so much more personal. I want this to be a place where I can be myself and reflect on what I'm thinking and be an encouragement to many.

My title 'Laughing at the days to come' has been in my mind for many months now, it's a reference to one of my favourite Bible passages, Proverbs 31 - an amazing description of an inspirational woman who loves God with all her heart and as a wife of noble character is loved by many. I aim to reflect this in my own life as I journey on with my wonderful Father God and my fantastic husband Matthew at my side.

I'm sure I'll talk more about my love of Proverbs 31 soon, but if you've not read it I'd encourage you to do so - the book of Proverbs is so full of wisdom. A note to end on - 'Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised', Proverbs 31 verse 30.
